What this covers
This policy explains what Nodi collects, why, and how you stay in control. It's written plainly, on purpose.
Information we collect
We collect the details you give us, plus some technical data to keep things running:
- Profile info, name, disciplines, school, city, bio, links, and featured work you add.
- Account info like your email and sign-in method, used to authenticate you.
- Activity, such as connections, event RSVPs, posts, messages, and saved items.
- Limited technical data, like device and browser info, for security and reliability.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- Run Nodi, show your profile, and connect you with other creatives.
- Send notifications about connections, messages, events, and requests you opt into.
- Keep the community safe and handle reports of misuse.
- Improve features and find what's worth building next.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We share only what's needed to run the service or meet legal duties:
- Other members see your profile and activity through normal app features.
- Service providers that host data, email, and payments, under contracts that limit how they use it.
- Authorities where we're legally required to respond.
Messages and connections
Direct messages are visible to you and the people you're talking with. We don't sell message content. Connections and RSVPs are visible through the app, as you'd expect.
Retention and deletion
We keep your info while your account is active, and for a short time after to handle issues or meet legal duties. Delete your profile to stop most use, and message us to erase remaining data.
Your choices
You're in control of your data. Among other things, you can:
- Edit or remove your profile details and featured work anytime.
- Accept or decline connection and message requests.
- Turn off notifications from Settings.
- Delete your account, which removes your profile from the app.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, like access limits and encryption in transit. No service is perfectly secure, so keep your account details private.
Children
Nodi isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child is using Nodi, contact us so we can remove the account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll let you know in the app or by email. Using Nodi after a change means you accept the updated policy.
